Subsequent Work

  1. Teach PSM control unit.

    > 453055 - REPLACING HYDRAULIC UNIT/PSM CONTROL UNIT 

  2. Bleed the brake system (in the conventional way).

    > 470107 - BLEEDING THE BRAKE SYSTEM

  3. Bleed the brake system using the PIWIS Tester  .
    1. 3.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle and switch on the ignition.
    2. 3.2 Select the PSM  control unit in the control unit overview  and confirm by pressing F12.
    3. 3.3 Select the Maintenance/repairs  menu item.
    4. 3.4 Select Bleed brakes  , confirm with F12 and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester  .
  4. Carry out a swap test using the PIWIS Tester  .
    1. 4.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle and switch on the ignition.
    2. 4.2 Select the PSM  control unit in the control unit overview  and confirm by pressing F12.
    3. 4.3 Select the Maintenance/repairs  menu item.
    4. 4.4 Select Hydraulic swap test  , confirm with F12 and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester  .
  5. Carry out a function test.
    1. 5.1 During the test drive, perform at least one ABS control operation  , taking the road conditions into consideration.
    2. 5.2 On vehicles with double clutch transmission, check the HOLD  function. If the combination sensor has been taught incorrectly, the HOLD function  will not be active for inclines of more than 5%.
    3. 5.3 Read out the fault memory. There must be no faults  stored.
  6. Install front left trim panel.

    > 700219 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT TRIM PANEL - PORTION ON "INSTALLING"
