Removing Intake-Air Distributor

WARNING:
Highly inflammable or explosive materials
- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours. Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammabe absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

- → Let the fluid cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
Information
- Escaping fuel must be soaked up using suitable binding material.
- The fuel system must be depressurised before starting work on it.
- Only work on the fuel system in well-ventilated rooms.
- Any seals that were removed must always be replaced.
- Never use sealant containing silicone or silicone spray when the injection system is open. Traces of silicone drawn in by the engine are not combusted and damage the < oxygen sensors.
- Disconnect coolant line
Line
- 1.1 Unscrew screws -2 and 3-.
- 1.2 Set coolant line -1- aside.
- Release and disconnect cable plug -1 to 4-.

1 Fuel injectors for direct fuel injection (DFI) 2 Valve for intake-air distributor flap 3 Knock sensor 4 Wiring harness for fuel pressure sensor, potentiometer for intake-air distributor flap, coolant temperature sensor, hall sender - Disconnect pressure hose

- 3.1 Loosen screw-type clamp -2- _.
- 3.2 Disconnect pressure hose -1- .
- Disconnect electric wire harness for throttle housing -1-

- 4.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -2- .
- 4.2 Unclip clips -3- .
- 4.3 Move electric wire harness for throttle housing -1- aside.
- Disconnect electric wire harness

- 5.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -2- .
- 5.2 Move electric wire harness -1- aside.
- Release and disconnect cable plug

- Disconnect lines -1-

Lines on intake-air distributor
- 7.1 Release and disconnect plug-in coupling -2- .
- 7.2 Close off openings using suitable stoppers.
- 7.3 Unclip clip -3- .
- 7.4 Unclip lines -1- from clips -4- and set them aside.
- 7.5 Disconnect vacuum lines -5- .
- Release and disconnect cable plug for knock sensor -1-
and unclip it from holder -2-

- Remove high-pressure line -1-

High-pressure line
- 9.1 Unscrew screw -2- and loosen holding clamp -3- .
- 9.2 Unscrew union nuts -4 and 5- on high-pressure pump -6- and fuel distributor -7- .
- 9.3 Remove high-pressure line -1- .
- Remove hall sender for intake camshaft -1-

- 10.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -2- .
- 10.2
Unscrew screw -3-
and pull out hall sender for intake camshaft -1-

- 10.2.1 Replace O-ring on hall sender.
- Remove support for intake-air distributor -1-

- 11.1 Screw off nut -2- .
- 11.2 Unscrew screw -3- .
- 11.3 Remove support for intake-air distributor -1- and guide it out of the engine compartment.
- Disconnect electric line for generator -1-

- 12.1 Unclip clip -2- from holder -3- .
- 12.2 Set electric line for generator -1- aside.
- Remove intake-air distributor -1-

Intake-air distributor
- 13.1 Unscrew screws -2- .
- 13.2 Remove intake-air distributor -1- .
- 13.2.1 Replace seal on intake-air distributor.
