Installing Fuel Injector

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of sealing rings and covers 

• Leaks 
• Risk of damage to components 
  1. → Use clean tools without burrs.
  2. → Make sure not to leave any scores or scratches when cleaning.

Information 

The combustion chamber sealing ring widens out as you slide it onto the fuel injector. It must therefore be closed in again in two steps after fitting.

Information 

If the groove on the fuel injector is damaged, the fuel injector must be replaced!

1. Prepare the fuel injector for installation.
   1. 1.1  Replace intermediate ring -1-  .
   2. 1.2  Replace mounting -2-  .
   3. 1.3  Carefully remove the combustion chamber seal -3-  by cutting the seal with a knife or widening it with a small screwdriver and then pulling it forward.
   4. 1.4  Replace spacer ring -4-  .
   5. 1.5  Replace O-ring -5-  and coat with clean engine oil.
   6. 1.6  Replace support ring -6-  .

2. Clean the bore in the cylinder head using the nylon cylinder brush T0133/4 -1-  .

3. Fit mounting cone T10133/5 -1-  with a new  combustion chamber sealing ring -2-  onto the fuel injector -3-  .

4. Use assembly sleeve T10133/6 -1-  to slide the combustion chamber sealing ring as far as it will go onto the assembly cone T10133/5 -2-  .

   Turn assembly sleeve T10133/6 -1-  in order to slide the combustion chamber sealing ring in as far as the sealing ring groove.

5. Turn calibrating sleeve T10133/7 -1-  slightly (approx. 180°) and press it as far as it will go onto the fuel injector -2-  . Pull calibrating sleeve T10133/7 -1-  off again by turning it in the opposite direction.

6. Install fuel injector -1-  .

   Position of fuel injector

   1. 6.1  Coat O-ring on the fuel injector with a light coating of engine oil.
   2. 6.2  Press the fuel injector -1-  as far as it will go into the bore on the cylinder head -2-  with your hand and make sure the fuel injector -1-  is positioned correctly in the cylinder head. (The lug -3-  and the bore -2-  in the cylinder head must be aligned.)

      If the fuel injector cannot be inserted by hand, the following procedure must be carried out: 

7. Carefully tap in the fuel injector -1-  using puller T10133/2A -2-  and slide hammer T10133/3 -3-  .
