Removing Fuel Collection Pipe

WARNING: Toxic substances 
  • Danger of poisoning or suffocation 
  • Danger of burns to the eyes and skin 
    1. → Wear personal protective gear.
    2. → Ventilate the work area well.
    3. → Never ingest or inhale.
    4. → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.
    5. → Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.
WARNING: Flammable or explosive materials 
  • Danger of fire or explosion 
    1. → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
    2. → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
    3. → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
WARNING: Hot fuel and hot fuel lines. 
  • Danger of scalding 
    1. → Allow the fuel to cool down before opening line connections.
    2. → Wear protective gloves.
    3. → Wear protective goggles.
CAUTION: Hot components 
  • Risk of burns 
    1. → Let hot components cool down.
    2. → Wear personal protective gear.

Incorrect handling of pipe and line connections 

  1. Loosen line guide -1-  from fuel collection pipe.

    Line guide on fuel collection pipe

    1. 1.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection for pressure sensor -2-  .
    2. 1.2  Release and disconnect electric plug connections -3-  .
    3. 1.3  Loosen retaining lugs -4-  and remove line guide -1-  from fuel collection pipe.
  2. Remove fuel collection pipe -1-  .

    Fuel collection pipe

    1. 2.1  Unscrew screws on fuel collection pipe -2-  .
    2. 2.2  Remove fuel collection pipe -1-  (-Arrow-  ).
    3. 2.3  Soak up any escaping residual fuel using suitable aids and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
  3. Replace O-rings and support rings on the fuel injectors.
