Removing Air-Cleaner Element

Fastening bolts

Loosen and tighten fastening bolts only in the specified direction. 
Turn fastening bolts by max. 90°, otherwise the guide lugs will break off. 
Replace damaged fastening bolts. 
  1. Remove upper part of air cleaner housing -1-  .

    1. 1.1  Unscrew screws -2-  .
    2. 1.2  Remove upper part of air cleaner housing -1-  .
  2. Disconnect intake manifold -1-  from air cleaner housing.

    1. 2.1  Press fastening bolts -2-  down slightly and turn 90° in -direction of arrow-  .
    2. 2.2  Pull out loosened fastening bolts -2-  .
    3. 2.3  Pull intake manifold -1-  off the air cleaner housing.
  3. Remove air cleaner housing cover -1-  and air-cleaner element -2-  .

    Air cleaner housing cover and air-cleaner element

    1. 3.1  Pull air cleaner housing cover -1-  together with air-cleaner element -2-  up and out.
    2. 3.2  Make sure that the seal -3-  does not get lost.
