Installing High-Pressure Pump
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Replace O-ring and adapter and insert roller tappet into the cylinder head.
- Turn the crankshaft until the roller tappet is set to the lowest point.
- Insert high-pressure pump -1-
and screw in new
screws on the high-pressure pump -2-
as far as the anchor block, by hand.

- Secure fuel lines -1-
to high-pressure pump -3-
.
- 4.1 Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe a drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting.
- 4.2 Fit fuel lines -1- and align without tension.
- 4.3 Screw on union nuts -2- hand-tight.

- Tighten screws on high-pressure pump -2-
.
- Initial tightening 20 Nm (14.8 ftlb.)
High-pressure pump
- Coat union nuts for fuel lines on the low and high pressure side -2-
on threads with Microgleit DF 977S, leave to dry off for 5 minutes and then tighten.
Low-pressure side:
- Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.)
- Torque angle 60°
High-pressure side:
- tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)
- Torque angle 60°
Fuel lines to high-pressure pump
- Clip electric plug connection to high-pressure pump -1-
and lock it.

- Secure fuel lines -1 and 2-
.
- 8.1 Clip fuel line -1- into clip -4- .
- 8.2 Insert fuel lines -1 and 2- into line clips -3- and close line clips -3- .
