Teaching Power-Steering Gear

Information

If the steering gear is replaced, the steering lock settings must be taught.
The steering lock settings are cleared after calibrating the steering-angle sensor and must be re-taught.

Calibrate PSM steering-angle sensor (in order to delete the stored limit stop values).

Teach steering lock settings.
1. 2.1 Connect battery charger.
  > 2X00IN - BATTERY TRICKLE CHARGE
2. 2.2 PIWIS Tester must be connected to the vehicle. Then, select the power steering control unit in the control unit overview.
3. 2.3 Select the Calibrate function in the Maintenance/repairs menu, press F12 to start and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester .
4. 2.4 Disconnect the battery charger from the vehicle.
