Installing Wheel

  • Risk of squashing or crushing 

    → Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

NOTIFICATION 

Removing/fitting wheels 

Information 

For vehicles with Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM):

Information 

The use of power tools (impact bolter) for loosening and securing the wheel bolts is not permitted.

Information 

The wheel bolts/security wheel bolts (thread and all surfaces) must not be greased!

  1. Clean wheel contact surfaces on the wheel hub and brake disc.
  2. Grease the wheel centering surfaces on the wheel hub -Arrows-  with a very thin coat of Optimoly TA (aluminium paste). The wheel contact surface on the brake disc -1-  and on the wheel itself must not be greased!

    Information 

    • For vehicles with PCCB, use two assembly aids (threaded bolts for fitting wheel) to prevent contact between the wheel and brake disc. 
    • The assembly aids can be ordered from the Porsche Spare Parts Information PET. 
  3. For vehicles with PCCB, use brake system assembly aids -1-  .

  4. Fit wheel -1-  .

    If necessary, get help from a second person or use  > VAS 6266A - wheel mounting trolleys  .

    Wheel mounting

    1. 4.1 Fit wheel -1-  on wheel hub and screw in wheel bolts -2-  (but do not tighten yet).
    2. 4.2 Lower the vehicle.
    3. 4.3 Tighten wheel bolts -2-  .

      > Tightening - torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.) 

  5. If necessary, update or enter data for the TPM system in the instrument cluster, main menu TPM, Settings, Tyre type and Tyre size  .
