Removing Exhaust System

CAUTION: Hot components 
  • Risk of burns 
    1. → Let hot components cool down.
    2. → Wear personal protective gear.
CAUTION: Heavy components 
  • Risk of squashing 
    1. → Wear personal protective gear.
    2. → Get someone to help if necessary.
  1. Secure the exhaust system -1-  using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack -2-  .
    1. 1.1  Position > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack -2-  under the exhaust system -1-  in such a way that both pipes can be supported at the same time.
    2. 1.2  Guide tension strap around both pipes and secure it.
    3. 1.3  Raise the exhaust system -1-  slightly.

  2. Loosen exhaust system -1-  .
    1. 2.1  Loosen nuts on clamp -2-  and slide clamp -3-  towards the exhaust system.
      1. 2.1.1  Replace clamp -2-  .
    2. 2.2  Unscrew nuts -4-  from exhaust bracket.
    3. 2.3  Unscrew screws -5-  .
    4. 2.4  Release and disconnect cable plug -6-  and pull it off the servo motor for flap control -7-.

    The help of another person is required for this step.

  3. Remove exhaust system -1-  .
    1. 3.1  Guide the exhaust system -Arrows-  , which is secured with a tension strap -1-  , downwards using the > VAS 6931 -engine and gearbox jack  .
