Installing Exhaust System

Information 

The help of another person is required for this step.

1. 1.1  Position exhaust system -1-  on > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  and secure with a tension strap -Arrows-  .
2. 1.2  Guide the exhaust system -1-  , which is secured with a tension strap -Arrows-  , upwards using the > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  and position it.

1. 2.1  Connect cable plug -6-  on servo motor for flap control -7-  and lock it.
2. 2.2  Screw on nuts -4-  , but do not tighten yet.
3. 2.3  Fit screws -5-  , but do not tighten yet.
4. 2.4  Slide new clamp -3-  onto exhaust pipes at the vehicle side and align it so that the threaded joint is not lower than the exhaust pipe.
5. 2.5  Tighten nuts on clamp -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 ftlb.) 
6. 2.6  Tighten nuts -4-  .
   • Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) 
7. 2.7  Tighten screws -5-  .
   • Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
