Installing Oil Pump

  1. Install oil pump -1-  .

    Oil pump

    1. 1.1  Check that dowel sleeves for centring the oil pump in the oil guide housing are inserted.
    2. 1.2  Check oil ducts in the oil guide housing for dirt and clean them if necessary.
    3. 1.3  Check strainer in the oil suction pipe for dirt and clean it if necessary.
    4. 1.4  Guide oil pump -1-  into the drive chain and position it.
    5. 1.5  Fit and tighten new  oil pump screws -2-  .

      > Initial - tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

      > Final tightening + 90° 

    Information 

    The chain tensioner spring must return to the installation position, otherwise, there is a risk of irreparable engine damage.

  2. Detach chain tensioner for oil pump -1-  .

    Pull chain tensioner spring -2-  with T10118 - assembly tool-3-  in -direction of arrow-  and remove T40265 - locking tool-4-  .

  3. Install oil windage tray -1-  .

    Oil windage tray

    1. 3.1  Fit new  O-ring onto new  oil windage tray.
    2. 3.2  Coat O-ring with engine oil.
    3. 3.3  Position oil windage tray -1-  .
    4. 3.4  Fit and tighten screw -2-  .

      > Initial - tightening 4 Nm (3 ftlb.) 

      > Final tightening + 45°
