Removing Rear Brake CALLIPER

WARNING:
Danger of injury and damage from brake fluid!
- Poisonous if swallowed!
- Irritation and damage to skin
- Avoid contact with paint surfaces
- Store brake fluid in suitable, labelled containers only
- Wear protective gloves and goggles
- In the event of contact (eyes or skin), wash immediately with water
- In the event of contact with paint surfaces, wash off immediately with water - do not wipe off
NOTE:
Removal of brake calliper
- Paint defects on brake calliper
- Proceed with care when setting back the brake pads.
- Protect the paintwork on the brake calliper from damage using a suitable cloth.
Information
If necessary, remove a little brake fluid from the reservoir by suction in order to prevent an overflow when the disc brake pads are pushed back.
- Use the PIWIS Tester
to move the electric parking brake (EPB) into the assembly position.
- 1.1 Select Parking brake in the control unit overview.
- 1.2 In the Maintenance/repairs menu, select the function assembly position.
- 1.3 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
- Have suitable containers ready for catching emerging brake fluid.
- Have suitable stoppers ready for closing off the line connections.
- Release and disconnect cable plug on rpm sensor -1-

Collect emerging brake fluid.
Information
- Do not use an impact bolter.
- Remove rear brake calliper -1-
.
Rear brake calliper
- 5.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -2- .
- 5.2 Disconnect brake line -3- on rear brake calliper -1- and set it aside.
- 5.3 Close off connection openings using stoppers.
- 5.4 Unscrew and replace brake calliper screws -4- .
- 5.5 Remove rear brake calliper -1- .
