Removing Double Clutch

  1. Position transmission on the mounting bracket with the gear shaft straight up.
  2. Detach double clutch cover -1-  .

    1. 2.1  Unscrew screws -2 to 6-  .
      1. 2.1.1  Replace screws.
  3. > T40123B - Lifting equipment -1-  must be fitted on the drive shaft -2-  .

    T40123B Lifting equipment

    1. 3.1  Push T40123 A/1 - Sleeve -3-  onto the drive shaft -2-  .
    2. 3.2  Fit puller -4-  of the > T40123B - lifting equipment -1-  .
      1. 3.2.1  Position the puller -4-  in such a way that the edge of the puller -4-  engages under T40123 A/1 - Sleeve -3-  .
      2. 3.2.2  Close the puller -4-  and tighten knurled nut -5-  .
    3. 3.3  Check that the > T40123B - lifting equipment -1-  is fitted securely on the drive shaft.

    Information 

    • Do not allow particles of dirt to get into the transmission. 
  4. Remove double clutch -1-  from the transmission housing.

    1. 4.1  > T40123B - Lifting equipment-2-  must be engaged using > 10-222A/2 - additional hooks-3-  on the > VAS 6100 - workshop crane-4-  .
    2. 4.2  Lift the double clutch -1-  out of the transmission housing.
      1. 4.2.1  Clean sealing face on transmission housing close to the double clutch.
  5. Set double clutch -1-  and cover -2-  down on a soft surface. Make sure not to damage the bar -3-  while doing this.

  6. > T40123B - Lifting equipment  can now be removed from the double clutch.
    1. 6.1  Loosen the knurled screw, open the puller and remove > T40123B - lifting equipment  from the double clutch.
    2. 6.2  Remove T40123 A/1 - Sleeve  from the drive shaft.

      Information 

      • The O-ring and circlip must be replaced.

  7. Remove double clutch cover

    1. 7.1  Remove circlip -2-  .
    2. 7.2  Pull off double clutch cover
      1. 7.2.1  Clean sealing face on double clutch cover.
