Removing Engine Mounting

Information
- The engine mounts must be replaced only in pairs.
- If an engine mount is defective, the heat shield must also be replaced.
Information
The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.
- 10-222A - Support bracket must be pre-tensioned slightly.
- Detach level sensor -1-
cable from holder -2-
on both sides of the vehicle.

- 2.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -3- .
- 2.2 Unclip clip -4- .
- 2.3 Put level sensor -1- cable aside.
- Only for engine mount on right:
Disconnect starter wire harness -1- from potential distributor at longitudinal member.

- 3.1 Screw off nut -2- .
- 3.2 Release and disconnect cable plug -3- .
- 3.3 Release cover of potential distributor -4- and fold it down -Arrow- .

Detach holder -6-

- 3.5.1 Screw off nut -7- .
- 3.6 Remove starter wire harness -1- and put it aside.
- Remove engine mount.

Information
- This work can only be performed when the engine has been suspended on the body.

Detach engine mounts -1-
from engine support on both sides of the vehicle and lift engine slightly.
- 4.1.1 Remove screws securing engine to engine mount -2- and replace.
- 4.1.2 Lift the engine by about 20 mm at the spindle of the > 10-222A - support bracket.

Detach engine mounts -1-
from front-axle carrier and engine.
- 4.2.1 Remove screws -3 and 4- .
- 4.2.2 Replace screws -4- .
- 4.3 Remove engine mount -1- with retainer plate.
