Installing Oil Spray Jet

Information 

Risk of damage to oil spray valves:

• Do not bend oil spray jets. 
• Bent oil spray valves must be replaced. 

1. Install oil spray jet -1-  .

   Oil spray jet

   1. 1.1  Fit oil spray jet -1-  .
   2. 1.2 Fit and tighten new  screw -2-  .
      • Initial tightening 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 
      • Final tightening + 45° 

   Information 

   The crankshaft must be turned only in direction of rotation of the engine.

2. Fasten piston -1-  .

   Piston and connecting rod on crankshaft

   1. 2.1  Turn the crankshaft until the relevant connecting rod bearing is accessible.
   2. 2.2  Fit connecting-rod bearing cap -3-  .
   3. 2.3 Oil new  connecting-rod bearing cap screws -2-  and fit and tighten them.
      • Initial tightening 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) 
      • Final tightening + 90° 
3. Install oil windage tray -1-  .

   Oil windage tray

   1. 3.1  Position oil windage tray -1-  on cylinder block.
   2. 3.2 Fit new  screws for oil windage tray -2 and 3-  and tighten in diagonally opposite sequence.
      • Initial tightening 3 Nm (2 ftlb.) 
      • Final tightening + 90°
