Remove Engine
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- → Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
- Danger of scalding
- → Allow the fuel to cool down before opening line connections.
- → Wear protective gloves.
- → Wear protective goggles.
- Escaping fuel in the engine compartment
- Fire in the engine compartment
- → Do not loosen hoses using sharp-edged tools.
- → Replace damaged fuel lines.
- Danger of chemical burns
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

- → Let hot components cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.

- 1.1.2 Soak up escaping fuel using suitable aids and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

- 1.2.1 Loosen spring band clamp -4- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamps pliers .
- 1.2.2 Disconnect active carbon filter line -2- and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
- Disconnect coolant hoses -1 and 2-

- 2.1 Release and disconnect quick connector -3- for the coolant hose -1- .
- 2.2 Loosen spring band clamp -4- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamps pliers .
- 2.3 Pull off coolant hose -2- .
- 2.4 Catch escaping coolant and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
- Disconnect coolant hose -1-
at the top of the radiator -3-

on the right longitudinal member and remove it.

- 20.1 Unclip clip -7- and move headlight vent line -8- aside.
- 20.2 Unscrew nut -2- and move ground lines -2 and 4- aside.
- 20.3 Release and disconnect cable plug -5- and loosen it from the holder.
- 20.4 Unscrew nut -4-, remove ground line -2- and set it aside.
- Press in locking lugs -1-,
pull off ground line -2-
in -direction of arrow-
and guide it down towards the engine.

- 23.6 Unclip clips -7- .
- 23.7 Move electric wire harness in wheel housing -1- aside.
- Disconnect lines -1 and 2-
from engine mount bracket.

- 29.3 Secure the wheel bearing housing -5- until the elevating platform is fitted to prevent it from tilting sideways.

- Disconnect spring strut forks

Bolts
- 32.1 Mark the position of the front-axle carrier and transmission support on the body using a water-resistant felt-tip pen.
- 32.2 Unscrew screws on front-axle carrier -2 to 9- .
- 32.2.1 Replace screws.
- 32.3 Unscrew screws on transmission support -10- .
- 32.4 Carefully lower the engine -1- on > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform . Make sure that no lines or other components are trapped or damaged.
