Installing Engine
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- → Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
- Danger of chemical burns
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

Bolts
- 1.1 Carefully guide the engine -1- into the vehicle from below on > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform . Make sure that no lines or other components are trapped or damaged.
- 1.2 Align the position of the front-axle carrier and transmission support at the markings made during removal.
- 1.3
Fit screws on front-axle carrier and tighten in the sequence -2 to 9-
.
- Initial tightening 115 Nm (84.8 ftlb.)
- Final tightening + 90°
- 1.4
Fit and tighten screws for transmission support -10-
.
- Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.)
- Remove >
VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform
and >
VAS 6832/5 - assembly device - Macan.
- 2.1 Secure the wheel bearing housing until the upper trailing arms are secured to prevent it from tilting sideways.
- Secure spring strut forks
Spring strut fork
- 3.1 Turn > 3424 - spreader by 90° and remove it from the spring strut forks -1- .
- 3.2 Insert screw -3- and screw on nut -2- .
- 3.3
Tighten nut on spring strut fork -2-
and counter at the screw -3-
at the same time.
- Final tightening 90 Nm (66 ftlb.)
- Final tightening + 90°
- Secure upper trailing arms -1 and 2-
to the wheel bearing housing -5-
.

- 4.1 Insert upper trailing arms -1 and 2- into the wheel bearing housing -5- .
- 4.2 Fit clamping screw on wheel bearing housing -3- .
- 4.3
Screw on and tighten nut -4-
Counter at the clamping screw -3-

- Tightening torque 45 Nm (33 ftlb.)
- Secure electric wire harness for transmission -1-

- 5.1 Position electric wire harness for transmission -1- and clip in clips -4- .
- 5.2 Connect and lock cable plugs -2 and 3- .
- Only if the power-steering gear was removed:
Secure universal joint for steering column -1- on the power-steering gear -2- .

- 6.1 Push universal joint for steering column -1- onto the power-steering gear -2- in the opposite direction to -direction of arrow- .

Fit and tighten screw on universal joint for steering column -3-

- Initial tightening 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
- Final tightening + 90°
- Only if the power-steering gear was removed:
Push on and lock cable plug for power-steering gear -1- .

- Secure lines -1 and 2-

- 11.7 Push on and lock cable plugs for level sensors -1- .
- Fasten new

and insert it in the opposite direction to -direction of arrow-
until the locking lugs -1-
