Removing B-Pillar Cover

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

1. Remove cover for front door inner panel -2-  .

   1. 1.1  Guide out rubber seal -1-  on cover for front door inner panel -2-  .
   2. 1.2  Guide out wire harness -3-  at the brackets on cover for front door inner panel -2-  .
   3. 1.3  Unclip cover for front door inner panel -2-  from front door inner panel, guide out operating cable for door release on cover for front door inner panel -2-  and remove cover for front door inner panel -2-  .
2. Loosen and remove window frame cover from front door.

3. Slide front door window -1-  down until the mountings -4-  are accessible through the cut-outs in the door inner panel.

4. Loosen front door window -1-  from the relevant mounting points -4-  on the power windows mechanism.

   1. 4.1  Actuate locking mechanism -2-  and remove limit stop -3-  on the power windows mechanism.
   2. 4.2  Move front door window -1-  down until the locking mechanism -5-  is accessible.
   3. 4.3  Actuate locking mechanism -5-  using a suitable tool -arrow A-  and carefully lift the front door window glass -1- (-arrow-B)  .
   4. 4.4  Pull front door window glass -1-  completely up -arrow B-  out of the mountings -4-  .
5. Partly loosen inner rubber seal -1-  on front door window -2-  .

   1. 5.1  Pull inner rubber seal -1-  in the side area of the cover for door inner panel at the front and bottom out of the door frame.
   2. 5.2  Carefully adjust the front door window -2-  until the screws -3-  are accessible.
   3. 5.3  Remove screws -3-  .

      Information 

      • Make sure not to scratch the B-pillar cover during removal. 
6. Push B-pillar cover -1-  down slightly -arrow A-  , detach it from the door and then guide it up and out -arrow B-  .
