Affixing Stone Guard Film

  1. Clean the paint surface for the stone guard film and rub it dry using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing cloth.

    Application fluid: 

    • 3 drops of non-lubricating washing-up liquid in 1, 000 ml distilled water. 
    • Or mix 25 - 30% isopropanol with distilled water. 
  2. Coat the surface on which you intend to affix the film with application fluid after cleaning.

    • The film must be affixed immediately after spraying. 
  3. Pull off backing sheet and coat the bonding surface of the film with application fluid.
  4. Position stone guard film.
    1. 4.1  Affix the film on the vehicle to dimension > Gap dimension X 2 mm +/-1 mm -X-  and > Gap dimension Z 2 mm +/- 1 mm -Z-  and press on lightly.

      The position can still be adjusted slightly.

    2. 4.2  Affix the film to the vehicle along the wheel arch contour and > Gap dimension Z 2 mm +/-1 mm -Z-  and press on lightly.

    Information 

    • The film must be applied without bubbles, and no water may remain between the paint surface and adhesive. 
  5. Press on the film from the inside out using a plastic squeegee in order to squeeze out the water -Arrows-  .

  6. The adhesive is activated by the pressure of the squeegee. The contact pressure should be at least 2 kg.
  7. After affixing the film, pull off the thin protective film.
  8. Dry off the entire surface using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing, non-scratch cloth.
  9. Check the affixed film for bubbles and defects.

    The film must be firmly affixed to the vehicle.

  10. Check that the corners are affixed correctly (press them down again if necessary).
