Installing Optical WAVEGUIDE (Pcm To Loudspeaker Booster): Overview

Information 

• The new lines will be secured to the fastening points for the old lines. 
• The old wire harness remains installed in the vehicle. 
• The old wire harness will only be disconnected/unplugged directly at the connected components.

• When installing the wire harness, make sure the insulation of the line is not damaged. 

Information 

The range of spare parts available for optical waveguides depends on the vehicle equipment. Depending on the vehicle equipment, there is a specific set containing the individual optical waveguides.

Select the required optical waveguide and remove it from the set.

Information 

Before routing a new optical waveguide:

• Visually check the locks, connector housing and contacts for damage. 
• Replace damaged parts if necessary. 

1. Route new optical waveguide along the main wire harness, guide it through the existing cable ducts and tie it to the main wire harness using tie-wraps.
2. Insert plug connection -1-  for the optical waveguides into the compact connector -2-  for the PCM display and operator control unit -arrow A-  until the plug connection engages securely.
