Installing Transmission

NOTE: Engine housing overload.

Risk of engine damage if housing breaks.
→ Observe specified loosening and tightening sequence!

→ Loosening sequence: Loosen screws from the bottom up.

→ Tightening sequence: Tighten screws from top to bottom.

Install transmission -7- .

1.1 Fit transmission -7- on the engine using > VAS 6931 - transmission and gearbox jack.
1.2 Screw in screws -6 to 1- up to the anchor block by hand.
1.3 Tighten screws in sequence -6 to 1- .
> Tightening torque 85 N.m (63 ft lb.)

1.4 Loosen the tension strap and remove > VAS 6931 - transmission and gearbox jack .

Bolts on transmission

Remove > VAS 6832 - master gear unit elevating platform .

Secure coolant hoses -1 and 2- .

3.1 Insert coolant hoses -1 and 2- into the hose connector -4- .

3.2 Lock spring clamps -3- and check that coolant hoses -1 and 2- are fitted securely.

Replace coolant hose bracket -1- .

4.1 Note markings -2- for brackets.

4.2 Note the position (bottom, top) of the coolant hoses.

Push on and lock cable plug on transmission wire harness -1- .

Install exhaust system holder -1- .

6.1 Position exhaust system holder -1- .

6.2 Screw in and tighten screws -2- .

> Tightening torque 30 N.m (22 ft lb.)
