Removing Shift And Selector Cables

Information 

Shift and selector cables must not be bent or kinked.

1. Shift transmission to neutral.
2. Release bayonet locks -1-  in -direction of arrow-  .

3. Disconnect shift and selector cables -1-  at the center console
   1. 3.1  Disengage shift and selector cables -1-  from support bracket on the center console -2-  .
   2. 3.2  Press rubber sleeve -3-  inwards out of the feed-through element.

4. Disconnect shift cable -3-  on manual transmission at the left.
   1. 4.1  Lever off ball joint -1-  using > VAS 6933 - Disassembly tool  .
   2. 4.2  Release shift cable -3-  at the support bracket -2-  and pull it off.

5. Disconnect shift cable -3-  on manual transmission at the right.
   1. 5.1  Lever off ball joint -1-  using > VAS 6933 - Disassembly tool  .
   2. 5.2  Release selector cable -3-  at the support bracket -2-  and pull it off.

6. Remove shift and selector cables -1-  .
   1. 6.1  Unclip shift and selector cables -1-  from clips -2-  .
   2. 6.2  Guide shift and selector cables -1-  out of the engine compartment through the passenger compartment.
