Installing Shift And Selector Cables

Information 

Shift and selector cables must not be bent or kinked.

Information 

• The assembly and transport sleeves that are fitted on the adjustment pins of the shift cable must not be removed until just before you engage the adjustment pins in the gearshift bracket 

Information 

• Route shift and selector cables above the transmission support. 

Information 

When installing the shift and selector cables, the transmission must be moved into neutral.

1. Install shift and selector cables -1-  .
   1. 1.1  Guide shift and selector cables -1-  through the passenger compartment into the engine compartment.
   2. 1.2  Clip shift and selector cables -1-  into clips -2-  .

2. Secure selector cable -3-  on the manual transmission at the right.
   1. 2.1  Push on and lock selector cable -3-  on the support bracket -2-  .
   2. 2.2  Clip in ball joint -1-  .

3. Secure shift cable -3-  on the manual transmission at the left.
   1. 3.1  Push on and lock shift cable -3-  on the support bracket -2-  .
   2. 3.2  Clip in ball joint -1-  .

4. Secure shift and selector cables -1-  at the center console.
   1. 4.1  Guide rubber sleeve -3-  through and secure it.
   2. 4.2  Engage shift and selector cables -1-  in support bracket on the center console -2-  .

5. Lock bayonet locks -1-  in the opposite direction to -direction of arrow-  .
