Checking Transmission Oil

Information 

The following requirements must be met in order to check the transmission oil:

• Engine is switched off. 
• Movable transmission parts are not moving. 
• Vehicle is raised in a level driving position using a lifting platform. 
• Oil collection pan is under the transmission. 
• Transmission fluid temperature is approx. 20°C. 

1. Unscrew filler screw on manual transmission -1-  .

   Information 

   Only oils approved by Porsche AG may be used, see Spare Parts Information.

2. If no transmission oil emerges:  Use > VAS 6563 - transmission fluid filler pump set  to fill in HDP 500 Porsche transmission oil  up to the lower edge of the filler opening.
3. Clean and tighten filler screw on manual transmission -1-  .

   > Tightening torque 40 N.m (29.5 ft lb.) +/- 2 N.m (1.5 ft lb.)

4. Remove any transmission oil that may have dropped onto components using suitable aids.
