Adjusting Vehicle Height/Correcting Wheel Load Differences

  1. Before adjusting the vehicle height/wheel loads, remove all suspension/stabilizers on the front and rear axle stabilizers.

    The effects of the high turning forces of the stabilizers can falsify the measurement.

    Adjusting vehicle height at front

    Lock nut
    Adjust nut
    1. 2.1 Loosen lock nut -1-  . Use a > 9647 - hook wrench  or special tool hook wrench (hook wrench insert) to do this.
    2. 2.2 Raise the vehicle at the jacking points until the wheels can turn freely.
    3. 2.3 Adjust nut -2-  turn clockwise = vehicle higher/turn anti-clockwise = vehicle lower.
    4. 2.4 Lower the vehicle onto its wheels (remove pit lifter).
    5. 2.5 Compress (pull down) the vehicle once and allow it to spring back freely. Then check the vehicle height and wheel loads.
    6. 2.6 After you have adjusted the lock nut(s) -1-  on the front and rear axle, tighten with special tool > 9647 - hook wrench  together with a torque wrench.

      > Tightening torque 50 N.m (36.9 ft lb.)

    1. 3.1 Loosen lock nut -1-  . Use a > 9647 - hook wrench  or special tool hook wrench (hook wrench insert) to do this.
    2. 3.2 Raise the vehicle at the jacking points until the wheels can turn freely.
    3. 3.3 Adjust nut -2-  turn clockwise = vehicle higher/turn anti-clockwise = vehicle lower.
    4. 3.4 Lower the vehicle onto its wheels (remove pit lifter).
    5. 3.5 Compress (pull down) the vehicle once and allow it to spring back freely. Then check the vehicle height and wheel loads.
    6. 3.6 After you have adjusted the lock nut(s) -1-  on the front and rear axle, tighten with special tool > 9647 - hook wrench  together with a torque wrench.

      > Tightening torque 50 N.m (36.9 ft lb.) 

  4. After adjusting the vehicle height/wheel loads, all suspension/stabilizers on the front and rear axle stabilizers should be fitted without tension  .

    To ensure that there is no tension, loosen the anti-roll-bar mounts and turn the anti-roll bar as required if necessary.
