Disassembling Cylinder Head

1. 2.1  > VAS 6419 - Cylinder head tensioning device  must now be connected to compressed air.
2. 2.2  Push air cushion with the lever under the relevant combustion chamber.
3. 2.3  Allow as much compressed air as required to flow into the air cushion until it is touching the valve discs.

1. 3.1  Fit valve key disassembly tools from > VAS 5161A - removal and installation device for valve cotters  on the cylinder head.
   1. 3.1.1  Screw engaging lock VAS 5161/5 -1-  into the appropriate threaded bore.
   2. 3.1.2  Position assembly cartridge VAS 5161/8A -2-  on the valve keys.
   3. 3.1.3  Engage pressure fork VAS 5161/2  with lever -3-  at a suitable position on the engaging lock VAS 5161/5 -1-  and support it on the assembly cartridge VAS 5161/8A -2-  .
2. 3.2  Press the valve springs together by pressing the pressure forks VAS 5161/2. 
3. 3.3  Loosen valve keys from the valve stem by turning the rotary head -4-  on the assembly cartridge VAS 5161/8A -2-  .
4. 3.4  Pull rotary head -4-  up and slowly guide up pressure fork VAS 5161/2  with lever -3-  .

   This should secure the valve keys in the assembly cartridge VAS 5161/8A.

Valve keys

1. 5.1  Mark the installation position of the valve springs and valve-spring plates for re-installation.
2. 5.2  Set valve springs and valve-spring plates down on a suitable surface so that they cannot get mixed up.
