Installing Vibration Damper
Information
The thread on the crankshaft flange must be free of oil and grease and must not be lubricated.
- Clean the thread on the crankshaft flange.
- Check vibration damper.
- 2.1 Check that the dowel pin is installed and is not damaged.
- 2.2 Visually inspect the vibration damper.
- Install vibration damper -1-
.
- 3.1 Fit vibration damper -1- on the crankshaft in such a way that the dowel pin engages in the relevant cut-out.
- 3.2 Screw in new screws for vibration damper -2- by hand and lock the vibration damper with > 9595/1 - locating pin .
- 3.3
Tighten screws on vibration damper -2-
using > 9768 - Electronic torque wrench, 2 - 100 N.m (1.5 - 74 ft lb.)
in diagonally opposite sequence.
> Initial tightening 10 N.m (7.5 ft lb.)
> Final tightening torque angle + 90°
- 3.4 > 9595/1 - Locating pin must then be removed.
