Disassembling Crankshaft

  1. Remove timing chains -1 to 3-  from the crankshaft -4-  .

  2. Clamp the crankshaft in a vice using > P209a - retainer plate  .
    1. 2.1  Fit crankshaft flange on the flywheel side on > P209a - retainer plate  using two screws and clamp > P209a - retainer plate  in a vice.
  3. Remove connecting rods for cylinders 1-3 -1-  .
    1. 3.1  Unscrew bolts -3-  from connecting rods for cylinders 1-3 -1-  .
    2. 3.2  Remove connecting rod caps and connecting rods and place them on a surface arranged according to cylinder.
    3. 3.3  Remove bearing shells and dispose of them.

  4. Clean the crankshaft and connecting rods.
