Removing Engine Carrier

Disconnect coolant hoses at the underbody -1- .
1. 1.1 Remove strut -2- .
  1. 1.1.1 Unscrew and remove screws -3- .
  2. 1.1.2 Unclip clip -4- from coolant hoses -1- and remove strut -2- .
2. 1.2 Loosen spring band clamps -5- using > VAS 6890 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers .
3. 1.3 Pull off coolant hoses -1- .
4. 1.4 Release and disconnect quick connector for coolant vent line -6- .
5. 1.5 Catch escaping coolant and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Coolant hoses at the underbody
Loosen upper threaded joint on the engine carrier -1- .
1. 2.1 Unscrew screw -2- .
2. 2.2 Unscrew screw -3- and counter at the hexagon -4- .
3. 2.3 Remove spacer sleeve -5- .

Upper threaded joint on engine carrier
> VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform must be prepared. Then, fit it on the engine.
> 1001IN TOOLS FOR REMOVING UNITS AND WORKING ON THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY SUPPORT
Remove engine carrier -1- .
1. 4.1 Remove foam part -2- .
  1. 4.1.1 Remove lines -3- from foam part -2- and set them aside carefully.
  2. 4.1.2 Guide out foam part -2- .
2. 4.2 Unscrew nuts -4- .
3. 4.3 Unscrew and remove screws -5- .
4. 4.4 Guide engine carrier -1- down and out.
