Lowering The Engine
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localised loading is not permitted.
Information
- The engine can be lowered by max. 40 millimeters without loosening the transmission mounts.
- The exhaust manifolds must not be touching the diagonal braces.
- Remove cover for rear underbody.

- Support the engine.
- 2.1 For working under the vehicle:
Support the engine at the mounting points -Arrows- using > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform .
- 2.2 For other work:
Support the engine over a large area of the oil pan using > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack and a suitable base.

- 2.1 For working under the vehicle:
- Unscrew nuts on the engine carrier -2-

- Lower the engine using > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform or > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack .
