Removing Rear Muffler

Information 

• Pre-treat corroded components with anti-rust agent or heat.

1. Detach rear silencer -1-  from particle filters -2-  .
   1. 1.1  Unscrew nuts on exhaust flanges -3-  .
      1. 1.1.1  Replace nuts.

2. Secure rear silencer -1-  using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack-2-  .
   1. 2.1  > VAS 6931 - Position engine and gearbox jack-2-  centrally below rear silencer -1-  .
   2. 2.2  Guide the tension strap for the > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack-2-  around the -1-  rear silencer and close.

3. Detach rear silencer -1-  from rear exhaust system mount.
   1. 3.1  Unscrew screws on rear exhaust system mount at the bottom -2-  .
   2. 3.2  Unscrew screws on rear exhaust system mount at the top -3-  .
   3. 3.3  Loosen nut -4-  and counter at the hexagon -5-  at the same time.
   4. 3.4  Loosen silencer holder -6-  from rear exhaust system mount.

4. Remove rear silencer -1-  .
   1. 4.1  Open clamp -2-  and pull off vacuum line -3-  .
   2. 4.2  Pull rear silencer -1-  on > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  to the rear and off the exhaust flanges on the particle filters.
   3. 4.3  Lower the rear silencer -1-  on the > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  and guide downwards and out of the vehicle.
