Installing Rear Tie Rod

Information 

• Due to the tightening specifications, the installed hexagon nuts do not necessarily have to be replaced. 
• Reuse of components is permitted if they are in good condition. 
• Replace damaged or severely corroded hexagon nuts. 

1. Fit toe control arm -2-  on rear-axle carrier side section and wheel bearing housing.
2. Fit toe eccentric adjuster -3-  at the position marked during removal and tighten lock nut. > Tightening torque 110 N.m (81.1 ft lb.) 

   Information 

   Following installation, seal the threaded joint securing tie rod to wheel bearing housing with wax as shown in -Illustration-  . Use Pfinder AP14/4 for this (see PIWIS Parts Information - PET)

3. Tighten hexagon nut on wheel bearing housing -1-  > Tightening torque 85 N.m (62.7 ft lb.)  .
