    Information

    • There are two bleeder valves on the brake calliper. Brake fluid must be drained at both bleeder valves. Always bleed the outer bleeder valve first.
    • Use a transparent hose and a collecting bottle to check the escaping brake fluid for cleanliness, absence of air bubbles and to determine the amount of brake fluid used.
  3. Bleed the brake system at the brake callipers.
    1. 3.1 Connect a collecting bottle with a transparent hose to the relevant bleeder valve.
    2. 3.2 Open the relevant bleeder valve and keep it open until clear brake fluid with no air bubbles emerges.
    3. 3.3 During the bleeding process, a second fitter must operate the brake pedal slowly and continuously.
    4. 3.4 As soon as clear brake fluid with no air bubbles emerges, close the bleeder valve and repeat the process for the next bleeder valve > Tightening torque 14 N.m (10.3 ft lb.)  .
  4. Only after removing and installing the hydraulic unit or brake master cylinder:  Bleed the secondary circuit using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II  .
    1. 4.1 Select PSM in the control unit overview.
    2. 4.2 Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
    3. 4.3 Bleeding hydraulic unit must be selected.
    4. 4.4 Bleed in accordance with instructions on > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II  .
    5. 4.5 Remove bleeder hoses and close bleeder valves > Tightening torque 14 N.m (10.3 ft lb.)  .
    6. 4.6 PIWIS Tester II must now be disconnected.
  5. Switch off the bleeding device and disconnect it from the brake fluid reservoir -1-  .

    Information

The brake fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX markings.

  6. Visually inspect the brake fluid level and correct it if necessary.
  7. Screw on cap -2-  on brake fluid reservoir -1-  .
