Removing Pneumatic Spring

WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components 
  • Risk of squashing or bruising 

    → Do not reach into the danger area.

    → Relieve tension on components before starting work.

    → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

Information 

The procedure is identical for both ends of the pneumatic spring.

Installation position of pneumatic spring

  1. Open convertible top at the rear.

    Removing pneumatic spring

  2. Insert a screwdriver -2-  between the head of the pneumatic spring and the safety clip -3-  in direction of arrow -A-  .
  3. Loosen the safety clip by levering the screwdriver -2-  in direction of arrow -B-  . The safety clip remains on the head of the pneumatic spring.
  4. Pull pneumatic spring -1-  off the ball joint in direction of arrow -B-  .
  5. Remove pneumatic spring.
