Installing Convertible Top Covering

Information 

Check that the fold placer cord -6-  is routed correctly. -arrow-

Fold placer cord routing

1. Remove remaining adhesive tape from the roof frame.
2. Affix double-sided adhesive tape on the roof frame -2-  .

   Information 

   The help of another person is required.

3. Fit convertible top covering -1-  and position the corners -arrows A-  .

5. Remove film from double-sided adhesive tape and fold the hood material around the roof frame edge without wrinkles.
6. Position convertible top covering.
   1. 6.1 Convertible top covering retaining strip variant: Position eyelets -1-  .

      Variant: Eyelets

      1. 6.1.1 Hook convertible top covering retaining strip -1-  with eyelets into hooks -2-  .
   2. 6.2 Convertible top covering retaining strip variant: Position piping -1-  .

      Variant: Piping

      1. 6.2.1 Engage piping in hooks -2-  .
      2. 6.2.2 Position convertible top covering retaining strip -1-  in area -3-  .
      3. 6.2.3 Hold convertible top covering in position with plastic clamps until the retaining strip is screwed on.
7. Tighten screws to > Tightening torque 6 N.m (4.5 ft lb.) +/- 1 N.m (0.5 ft lb.)  .
8. Further installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
9. Fasten rivets using > VAS 5072A - Pop Rivet Pliers  .

Tighten fastening screws for front roof strut to the specified tightening torque. > Tightening torque 9 N.m (6.5 ft lb.) +/- 1 N.m (0.5 ft lb.)
