Removing And Installing Cover For Front Middle Backrest (Air-Conditioned Comfort Seat)
- Cut tie-wrap -1-
and disconnect electric plug connection -2-

Disconnecting electric plug connection
- Unclip cover for front middle backrest -1-
at the rear from the backrest shell using a plastic wedge -2-
at the retaining lugs -3-

Information
Carefully detach cover for front middle backrest. Do not bend the retaining hook.
- Detach cover for front middle backrest -1-
.
- 3.1 Press cover for front middle backrest -1- together slightly at the sides -arrows B- and use a plastic wedge to detach it from the catches -inset below- .
- 3.2 Insert your hand in behind the top of the cover for the front middle backrest -1- and detach it by pulling it up out of the backrest frame -2- (-arrow A- ).

- Release intake plenum -2-

- 4.1 Fold cover for front middle backrest -1- forward slightly in the upper area -arrow A- .
- 4.2 Press in locking lugs on intake plenum -2- (-arrows B- ).
- 4.3 Loosen intake plenum -2- from the air duct -3- .

Mark assignment of electric plug connections before disconnecting them.
- Disconnect electric plug connections -1-
for backrest seat heating.

Information
The help of another person is required to secure the backrest.
- Unscrew and remove screws -1-
at the left and right on the backrest.

- Unscrew screw -1-
at the left and right and remove inner backrest cover -2-

- Remove anti-chafing element -1-
.
Removing anti-chafing element
- Guide out wire harness and remove cover for front middle backrest.
- Installation is performed in reverse order.
- Affix new anti-chafing element.
- Screw in and tighten screws at the left and right in the backrest. > Tightening torque 34 N.m (25 ft lb.) +/- 4 N.m (3 ft lb.)
