Removing And Installing Front Seat

NOTE: Incorrect line routing 
  • Risk of damage to lines and hoses 
  • Malfunction and fault memory entry on control unit 

    → Avoid small bending when routing lines.

    → File down edges and burrs in the routing area or mask them with adhesive tape.

    → Maintain a sufficient distance from components exposed to high temperatures while driving.

WARNING: Incorrect handling of safety bolts 
  • Danger of injury 
  • Loss of torque 

    → Always use new screws or nuts following removal.

    → Comply with instructions for repairs.

    → Observe specified tightening torques.

    → Carry out a visual inspection of parts used.

Information 

Do not trap or damage electric lines.

  1. Move front seat as far back as it will go.
  2. Insert a suitable tool -1-  under the locking lugs and press upwards slightly.
  3. Remove seat rail covers -2-  from the left and right seat rails by pulling them forward.

    Information 

    Micro-self-locking or self-tapping screws must not be modified, greased or loosened and then screwed in again.

  4. Unscrew and remove front screws -2-  at the left and right.

  5. Move front seat as far forward as it will go.

    Information 

    Micro-self-locking or self-tapping screws must not be modified, greased or loosened and then screwed in again.

  6. Unscrew and remove rear screws -1-  at the left and right.

  7. Disconnect ground line for battery.

  8. Tilt the front seat back.
  9. Disconnect electric central connector -1-  .

    Information 

    The number of electric plug connections will vary depending on equipment.

  10. Disconnect electric plug connection -2-  .

  11. Unclip electric wire harness -1-  .

    Information 

    The help of another person is required.

  12. Remove front seat from the vehicle.

    Information 

    The routing of the electric wire harness for the control unit must be checked before installing the seat.

  13. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

    Tightening torque for screw securing front seat to body: > Tightening torque 50 N.m (37 ft lb.)
