Removing Rear Wheel Housing

Information 

Remove flow drill screws from the cavities.

Information 

Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

Information 

Carefully remove remaining pieces using a suitable tool. Connection points are needed for rivet joints.

  1. Roughly cut out rear wheel housing.

  2. Unscrew and remove flow drill screws.

  3. Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - Body Dent Removal System, Aluminum  and > VAS 6790 - Compact Booster.

  4. Drill out spotwelds from the inside. > VAS 882 001 - Spot-weld remover

  5. Drill out connection points.

    1. 5.1  Drill out spotwelds -A-  . > VAS 882 001 - Spot-weld remover 
    2. 5.2  Drill through clinch points using a drill bit with a diameter of > Diameter 6.6 mm  .
  6. Heat bonding areas. > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower

  7. Remove remaining sheetmetal parts and rear section of inner rear wheel housing.
