Removing Wire Harness For Power Seats
NOTE:
Voltage peaks
- Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit
→ Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing electrical load.
Information
Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components.
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until just before installation.
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.
Information
The number of electric plug connections will vary depending on equipment.
- Press electric central connector -1-
out of the mounting -arrow a-
.
Disconnecting electric central connector
- Unscrew and remove screws -1-
on holder -2-
for memory seat adjustment control unit.
Removing holder for memory seat adjustment control unit
- Only for vehicles with active seat ventilation (I-no 5/1):
Swivel up holder for memory seat adjustment control unit with the suction fan screwed on and attach it to the retainer plate for the seat adjustment motor.
- Cut he relevant tie-wraps -1-
and remove them.
Removing tie-wraps
- Disconnect electric plug connections.
- 5.1 Disconnect electric plug connection on the motor for front vertical adjustment -arrow A- .
- 5.2 Disconnect electric plug connection on motor for rear vertical adjustment -arrow B- .
- 5.3 Cut tie-wrap at the connector housing. Open the latch on the connector housing -arrow c- and pull out electric connector insert -arrow C- .
- 5.4 Release connector housing mounting -arrow d- and pull electric plug connection out of the mounting -arrow D- .
- 5.5 Cut tie-wrap -1- and disconnect electric plug connection -arrow E- .
- 5.6 Release electric plug connection -arrow f- and disconnect it -arrow F- .
- 5.7 Disconnect electric plug connection -arrow G- .
- 5.8 Release electric plug connection -arrow h- and disconnect it -arrow H- .
- 5.9 Disconnect electric plug connection -arrow I- .
- 5.10 Pull clamp with wire harness off the tab.

Disconnect electric plug connection from seat adjustment motor -arrow K-
.
Disconnect the electric plug connections
- Disconnect electric wire harness for airbag.
- 6.1 Unscrew and remove screws -1- from the outward-facing side of the cushion carrier.
- 6.2 Cut tie-wraps -2 and 4- and remove them.
- 6.3 Press backrest frame -5- away from the cushion carrier -arrow A- and pull out electric wire harness -3- (-arrow B- ).

Remove all wire harness fastenings for the electric wire harness.
Disconnecting electric wire harness for airbag
- Pull connections and contacts through as far as the underside of the seat and remove electric wire harness.
