Electric wire harnesses are supplied as maximum equipment. Tie up connections that are not required so that they cannot make noise and stow them away.

  1. Before assembling the driver's seat or passenger seat, check the following points on the line routing.

    Driver's seat:

    Passenger seat:

  2. Secure electric wire harness for airbag.
    1. 2.1  Guide airbag wire harness over the backrest adjustment mechanism through the backrest as far as the mounting for the side airbag.
    2. 2.2  Attach all wire harness fastenings for the electric wire harness.
    3. 2.3  Press backrest frame -5-  away from the cushion carrier -arrow A-  and position electric wire harness -3-  (-arrow B-  ).
    4. 2.4  Fit new tie-wraps -2 and 4-  .
    5. 2.5  Screw screws -1-  into the outward-facing side of the cushion carrier and tighten them.

      Securing electric wire harness for airbag

  3. Connect electric plug connections.
    1. 3.1  Connect electric plug connection on motor for front vertical adjustment -arrow A-  .
    2. 3.2  Connect electric plug connection on motor for rear vertical adjustment -arrow B-  .
    3. 3.3  Slide connector insert into the connector housing -arrow C-  . Fit a new tie-wrap on the connector housing in order to secure the cables.
    4. 3.4  Push electric plug connection into the mounting -arrow D-  .
    5. 3.5  Connect electric plug connection -arrow E-  . Fit new tie-wrap on plug connection in order to secure it to the wire harness.
    6. 3.6  Connect electric plug connection -arrows F to I-  .
    7. 3.7  Slide clamp with vire harness onto the tab.
    8. 3.8  Connect electric plug connection on seat adjustment motor -arrow K-  .

  4. Fit new tie-wraps -1-  at the marked positions.

  5. Only fir vehicles with active seat ventilation (I-no. 541): 

    Loosen holder for memory seat adjustment and install suction fan.

  6. Secure holder for memory seat adjustment control unit -2-  .

  7. Fit electric central connector in the mounting on the memory seat adjustment control unit holder -arrow a-  .
