Installing Wire Harness For Power Seats

• Route electric wire harness without tension.

Electric wire harnesses are supplied as maximum equipment. Tie up connections that are not required so that they cannot make noise and stow them away.

Pulling out lines

• Check that the edge clip on the wire harness is clipped into the relevant tab on the backrest frame -1- and clip it in if necessary 
• When routing the line for the thorax airbag, always make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the line and the seat/backrest kinematics. Make sure that the line CANNOT get caught in the moving kinematics. 
• Check the horizontal position of the clip -2- and adjust it if necessary. 
• Press tie-wrap is on the driver's airbag wiring harness into the take-up holes provided for them as shown -1- and check that they are fitted securely. 
• When routing the line from the driver's seat to the airbag, always check that the line is positioned exactly in the clearance area -1- between the 2nd and 3rd cross strut after fitting the backrest (particularly with Sport Plus). 
• Always fit the backrest shell first before pulling the airbag connector -1- and ground connection -2- out of the backrest trim.

Routing of airbag line

• Both tie-wraps N 906.666.01 -1- are only used on seats with heating. On seats without heating, the line remains unsecured in the sheetmetal well. 
• Press tie-wrap on the passenger's airbag wiring harness into the take-up hole provided for it as shown -1-  .
• Edge clip -inset- is clipped into the relevant tab on the backrest frame. 
• When routing the line for the thorax airbag, always make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the line and the seat/backrest kinematics. Make sure that the line CANNOT get caught in the moving kinematics. 
• Press tie-wraps on the passenger's airbag wiring harness horizontally -1- into the take-up holes provided for them and check that they are fitted securely. 
• When routing the line from the passenger seat to the airbag, always check that the line is positioned exactly in the clearance area -arrow- between the 2nd and 3rd cross strut alter fitting the backrest (particularly with Sport Plus). Otherwise, there is a danger of crushing the cable. 
• Always fit the back rest shell first before pulling the airbag connector -1- and ground connection -2- out of the backrest trim

• -1- Fit commercially available adhesive felt at the left side of the driver's seat or passenger seat to protect the electric lines that can be routed over the edge area. 
• -2- Fit commercially available adhesive felt at the right side of the driver's seat or passenger seat to protect the electric lines that can be routed over the edge area. 

1. Before assembling the driver's seat or passenger seat, check the following points on the line routing.

2. Secure electric wire harness for airbag.
   1. 2.1  Guide airbag wire harness over the backrest adjustment mechanism through the backrest as far as the mounting for the side airbag.
   2. 2.2  Attach all wire harness fastenings for the electric wire harness.
   3. 2.3  Press backrest frame -5-  away from the cushion carrier -arrow A-  and position electric wire harness -3-  (-arrow B-  ).
   4. 2.4  Fit new tie-wraps -2 and 4-  .
   5. 2.5  Screw screws -1-  into the outward-facing side of the cushion carrier and tighten them.

3. Connect electric plug connections.
   1. 3.1  Connect electric plug connection on motor for front vertical adjustment -arrow A-  .
   2. 3.2  Connect electric plug connection on motor for rear vertical adjustment -arrow B-  .
   3. 3.3  Slide connector insert into the connector housing -arrow C-  . Fit a new tie-wrap on the connector housing in order to secure the cables.
   4. 3.4  Push electric plug connection into the mounting -arrow D-  .
   5. 3.5  Connect electric plug connection -arrow E-  . Fit new tie-wrap on plug connection in order to secure it to the wire harness.
   6. 3.6  Connect electric plug connection -arrows F to I-  .
   7. 3.7  Slide clamp with vire harness onto the tab.
   8. 3.8  Connect electric plug connection on seat adjustment motor -arrow K-  .

4. Fit new tie-wraps -1-  at the marked positions.

5. Only fir vehicles with active seat ventilation (I-no. 541): 

   Loosen holder for memory seat adjustment and install suction fan.

6. Secure holder for memory seat adjustment control unit -2-  .
