Installing Fuel Line (Right High-Pressure Pump To Rail)

Information 

Check fuel line for damage following removal and replace it if necessary.

1. Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe a drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting.
2. Install fuel line -1-  .
   1. 2.1 Lift sound absorber, guide in fuel line -1-  and fit union nuts -13-  by hand.
   2. 2.2 Screw in and tighten screw -12-  > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
   3. 2.3 Tighten union nuts -13-  using > V.A.G 1331/6 - Open-jawed wrench insert, a/f 17  > Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  + > Final tightening + 50°

3. The remaining installation steps are performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

   Tightening torque for nuts on ground lines: > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) (6.6 ftlb.) 

   Tightening torque for screw on fuel line: > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 

   Tightening torque for screw securing upper part of torque support bracket to lower part: > Tightening torque 55 Nm (40.6 ftlb.) 

   Tightening torque for screw on torque support bracket: > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
