Installing Head Airbag Unit

Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new screws or nuts following removal.
→ Comply with instructions for repairs.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of parts used.

Replace all clamps and holders you removed from the head airbag unit.

Check installation position of the head airbag unit:
Test strip for head airbag unit
- The head airbag unit must not be twisted during installation.
- The test strip -1- must be completely visible over the entire length.
- Head airbag unit at the left - test strip -1- is blue.
- Head airbag unit at the right - test strip -1- is black.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
Tightening torque for screw securing head airbag unit to A-pillar: > Tightening torque 5.6 Nm (4.1 ftlb.)
Tightening torque for screw securing head airbag unit to roof frame: > Tightening torque 5.6 Nm (4.1 ftlb.)
