Removing Airbag Triggering Unit
- Triggering of airbag unit.
- System faults can occur.
→ Remove ignition key or remote control (hand-held transmitter) and keep it outside of the transmission range.
→ External power supply must be de-energized.
→ Disconnect the battery and isolate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided.
→ Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.
→ Only pull off connector on the triggering unit after the waiting time has elapsed.
→ Keep space in front of the airbag unit free.
→ Replace damaged parts.
→ Always set airbag units down with the blow-out opening facing upwards.
→ Do not place any objects on the airbag units.
→ Store airbag units in a safe place.
→ Avoid contact with grease, oil, detergents, liquids or similar substances.
→ Store airbag units in a cool place. Maximum temperature: 90°C.
Information
Transport the airbag triggering unit carefully. Do not shake the airbag triggering unit vigorously and do not drop it or let it fall.
- Press the floor covering aside.
- Remove front centre console holder -2-
.
- 2.1 Unscrew screws -1- on front centre console holder -2- .
- 2.2 Pull front centre console holder -2- forward and remove it.

- Release and disconnect electric plug connection -4-
through the opening on the rear centre air vent.

- Unscrew nuts -3-

- Remove airbag triggering unit -6-
.
- 5.1 Press airbag triggering unit -6- forward.
- 5.2 Release electric plug connection -5- and disconnect it.
- 5.3 Remove airbag triggering unit -6- .
