Removing Chain TENSIONER

Information
The chain tensioner piston is oil-damped and can only be pressed back slowly and with constant pressure.
NOTIFICATION
Incorrect handling of crankshafts
- Risk of damage to the timing system
- → Never turn the crankshaft against the rolling direction or when the chain tensioner is removed.
- → Proceed carefully with your work.
- → Only turn the engine at the crankshaft.
- → Observe general warning notes and working regulations.
- Turn the crankshaft using T40263 - special wrench, a/f 21
and T40314 - adapter
until the vibration damper is aligned with the BDC marking
on the corresponding marking on the engine and the markings -1-
on the camshaft timing gears are offset by 180° with respect to the relevant marking -Arrows-
on the camshaft housing.

- Remove chain tensioner -1-
.
- 2.1 Press the chain tensioner piston -1- back slowly as far as it will go by applying constant pressure using a suitable tool and then lock it using T03006 - locking pin-3- .
- 2.2 Unscrew screws -2- and remove chain tensioner -1- .
