Installing Front Anti-Roll Bar
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- Use new screws and nuts.
- Move anti-roll bar -1-
with anti-roll bar clamps -2-
into installation position.
Make sure that the gap -3- in the rubber mounting -4- in the right bracket is touching the contact surface of the clamp.
Anti-roll bar clamp
- 2.1 Fit nuts -5-
to the stabilizer clamps -2-
and tighten them evenly.
> Tightening - torque 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)
- 2.1 Fit nuts -5-
to the stabilizer clamps -2-
and tighten them evenly.
- Fit screws and nuts securing connecting link to anti-roll bar.WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.
- Before tightening the screws: Raise wheel suspension to zero position using >
VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack
and > T10149 - support

Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)
- Tighten new
screws -2-
.
> Initial - tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 90°
