Adjusting Fuel Level Sender

NOTIFICATION
Coding/programming will be aborted in the event of undervoltage.
- Increased power consumption during diagnosis can cause a drop in voltage, which can result in one or more fault entries and abortion of the coding process.
- → Before commencing work, connect a suitable battery charger with a charging current of at least 90 A to the jumpstart terminals in the engine compartment.
NOTIFICATION
Programming/coding will be aborted if the WiFi connection is unstable.
- An unstable WLAN connection can interrupt communication between PIWIS Tester 3 and the vehicle communication module (VCI). As a result, coding/programming may be aborted.
- → During control unit programming/coding, always connect PIWIS Tester 3 to the vehicle communication module (VCI) via the USB cable.
Information
The fuel level sender must be adjusted after carrying out the following work:
- Replacing fuel tank
- Replacing fuel level sender
- Replacing instrument cluster (only if the Read out values function could not be performed)
- Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle.
- Select Instrument cluster in the control unit overview and press >> or F12 to confirm your selection.
- Select the Maintenance/repairs menu.
- Select the Fuel tank calibration function and press >> or F12 to confirm your selection.
- Select the Fuel-level sensor calibration function and press F8 to start.
- The message Fuel tank calibration completed successfully appears on the Tester screen.
- Press F12 to exit.
- Disconnect the PIWIS Tester from the vehicle.
