Installing Cylinder Head - Left Cylinder Bank

1. 1.1  Clean sealing faces on the cylinder head -11-  and cylinder block.
2. 1.2  Fit new  cylinder-head gasket on the cylinder block.
3. 1.3  Carefully position cylinder head -11-  on the new cylinder-head gasket.
4. 1.4  Screw in screws on the cylinder head as far as they will go by hand and tighten in the following sequence: Screws on cylinder head -1 to 8-  :

• Initial tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.) 
• Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) 
• Torque angle + 90° 
• Final tightening + 90° 

Screw on cylinder head -9-  :

• Initial tightening 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

Screws on cylinder head -10- 

• Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

Screw on cylinder head -9-  :

• Torque angle + 90° 

Screws on cylinder head -10- 

• Torque angle + 90°

Guide rail on left cylinder head

1. 2.1  Screw in and tighten screw -2-  .

• Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Coolant line - left cylinder bank

1. 3.1  Fit coolant line -1-  with a new O-ring on the cylinder head
2. 3.2  Screw in and tighten screw -2-  .

• Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Coolant vent line

1. 4.1  Fit coolant vent line -1-  with a new O-ring on the cylinder head.
2. 4.2  Screw in and tighten screw -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Oil dipstick guide

1. 5.1  Insert guide for oil dipstick -1-  with a new O-ring into the crankcase cover.
2. 5.2  Fit and tighten screw -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Coolant control valve

1. 6.1  Fit and position coolant control valve -1-  on coolant pipe -4-  .
2. 6.2  Fit and tighten screws on coolant control valve -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
3. 6.3  Connect vacuum hose -3-  .

Coolant pipe

1. 7.1  Fit coolant pipe -1-  with new O-rings.
2. 7.2  Fit and tighten screws for coolant pipe -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
