Checking Brake Booster Vacuum Pump (V6 Turbo)

Vacuum hose for secondary load connection (V6 Turbo)
- 1.1 Disconnect vacuum hose for secondary load connection -2- from brake booster vacuum pump -1- .
- 1.2 Connect a vacuum tester > VAS 6213 - hand vacuum pump to the brake booster vacuum pump -1- .
- 1.3 Move the lever on the vacuum tester to Open (vacuum).
- 1.4 Start the engine and leave it running at idle speed with slightly varying revs.
Information
If the vacuum is not maintained, i.e. the pointer moves towards 0 bar, the brake booster vacuum pump is faulty.
- 1.5 Check for a vacuum of at least 600 mbar or 0.6 bar.
- 1.6 Stop the engine, remove special tool and connect vacuum hose for secondary load connection -2- to the brake booster vacuum pump -1- again.
