Calibrating Selector Knob

Information
The brake must not be pressed during the entire process.
- Calibrate selector knob.
- 1.1 Switch off the ignition.
- 1.2 Move selector knob to position P.
- 1.3 Open the driver's door.
- 1.4 Switch ignition on and off. The displays P, R, N, D must flash in the instrument cluster.
- 1.5 Connect cable plug for selector support. The display changes to P.
- 1.6 Wait two seconds
- 1.7 Within five seconds, press the emergency release button -Arrow- five times. The displays must flash. Otherwise, repeat calibration from Step 1.4.

Press the emergency release button, switch from P
to D and
wait one second.
The emergency release button must be released again immediately after shifting out of P.
- 1.8.1 Repeat the process five times.
- 1.9
Move selector knob to position M.
The flashing displays must go off and position D
must be displayed. The process can take up to seven seconds.

- Check calibration
- 2.1 Start the engine.
- 2.2 Switch through all positions using the selector knob and check whether the selected transmission ranges are displayed correctly in the instrument cluster.
- If the selected transmission ranges are not displayed correctly, repeat the calibration process.
- Erase the fault memory in the transmission control unit and instrument cluster control unit using the PIWIS Tester.
