Changing ATF

Hot fluid

→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear,
NOTE:
Dirt and contamination
- Risk of damage to units or components
→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.
→ Clean or replace dirty components.
NOTE:
Fill level too low
- Risk of damage to components.
→ Do not start the engine.
→ Do not tow the vehicle.
- Place the oil collection pan under the transmission
Information
- The engine must not be started if there is no ATF in the transmission.
- Risk of damage to the transmission.
- Unscrew ATF drain plug -1-
and let the ATF drain.

- Replacing ATF filter.
- Tighten the ATF drain plug -1-
with a new
sealing ring.
> Tightening - torque 45 Nm (33 ftlb.)

- Fill manual metering pump 6563/3 (for ATF) from > VAS 6563 - Transmission fluid filler pump set with ATF for the double clutch transmission
- Unscrew ATF inspection plug -1-

- Change the ATF when the engine/transmission is cold.

- Only part of the total change quantity can be filled because of the test specifications stipulated for the ATF.
- The remaining quantity must then be filled as described under Checking and topping up ATF.

Replace the ATF inspection plug (-1-

- Fill in ATF.
- 7.1 Fill in ATF using manual metering pump 6563/3 from the > VAS 6563 - Transmission fluid filler pump set until ATF emerges from the inspection opening.
- 7.2 Start the engine and then stop it again after 20 seconds.
- 7.3 Fill in ATF again using the manual metering pump until ATF emerges from the control opening.

Screw in new ATF inspection plug -1-
